'Re-Engineering Pakistan’ launched at Expo Centre

KARACHI: Academic and Social Circle, a subsidiary social wing of the All-Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) on Tuesday launched a three-day exhibition entitled ‘Re-Engineering Pakistan’ here at the Karachi Expo Centre.

The exhibition was opened by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Co-ordination Committee member Nasrin Jalil and Sindh Industries Minister Rauf Siddiqui.

A large number of academic institutions, including all permanent public and private universities and private sector companies, had their stalls set up in the exhibition.

Visitors exhibited keen interest in the projects related to solar energy, electric-powered card, primitive form of drone, aero plane, robots, traffic signals and other interesting projects made by the students of various universities.

The three-day event comprised of four segments project competition, job fair, education fair, and workshops, which were inaugurated by the Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the reason behind launching the initiative was to find the solution to problems and issues being faced by the country.

Dr Ahmed said that the event would soften the image of Pakistan globally. “The event will promote fresh thoughts of Pakistani youth, who want to restructure the country”, he added.

Dr Ahmed also hailed the APMSO for launching the positive initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Organising Committee Member Dr Shah Ali said about 300 projects were placed in the exhibition. “The country is presently facing immense problems particularly the power shortage and through the exhibition, the Academic and Social Circle provided Pakistani youth with an opportunity to find and discuss the solution of such problems”, he added.

Members Co-ordination Committee Wasay Jalil, Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Qasim Ali Raza, Salim Tajik, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Karachi University Vice-Chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Siddiqui and a large number of other dignitaries from industry were also present on the occasion. staff report
