‘Raffles all the way’ Collection – as Fashion Designer Hazree Wahid’s names it – was immaculately designed, which greatly preserved the traditional Malaysian style and detailing, fused in with Western cuts and designs. Although they were mostly monochromatic, the body hugging gowns flowed smoothly down in fish style skirts, emphasizing a picturesque feminine beauty. Though, rather futuristic, the fine detailing and fewer embellishments presented a subtle elegance in Malay designer’s graceful outfits.
His sophisticated assortment, comprising of long flowing skirts and strapless gowns, seamlessly presented a balance between Malaysian culture and Western trends. Fashionista at Styleablaze, I believe his experimentation with colors, styles and designing is conspicuously distinct from likes of many, making Hazree Wahid’s work stand uniquely innovative and aesthetically voguish.
Fashion Designer Hazree Wahid mostly plays with traditional handmade and machine embroidered outfits with noticeable hints of western designs and trends.
Pakistani model Iraj walked down the ramp dressed in an austere yet stunning black gown.
Karachi Fashion Week 2010 was a massive hit, where Pakistani fashion designers shared the ramp with international fashion designers and their exuberant collections. Event organized by Excellent Events & Entertainment (Pvt) Ltd “Triple E” followed international standards, putting up a winning show overall.
The fashion week was primarily organized with the aim to promote the South Asian Muslim nation’s textile industry and attract international buyers and retailers to this region.

Karachi University announces result of BA 2010

Karachi, Karachi University (KU) has announced the result of B.A. Part 2 and both parts annual examination result 2010 on July 1, 2011. The examination department of Karachi University issued a result gazette.
Total 9160 candidates applied for the examination and 8848 students were appeared in the BA annual examination 2010. Total 2964 students were declared the BA examination, 684 students passed the exams with first division, 2225 students with second division while 55 candidates with third division, said in the gazette. The pass percentage of this year is 33.50%. The result of 20 students was withheld because they have changed their subjects without any permission, said the examination department of Karachi University (KU).
All top positions were clinched by female students. Hadiya Saleem of BAMM PECHS Govt. College of women got first position by getting 783 marks out of 1000. Second position was got by Anum Rafique, student of the same college with 760 marks. Asia Ashraf got third position by getting 751marks. She is the student of Khursheed Govt Girls College.
The result card of the students were sent to their address by mail and the admission for MA annual examination will start from July 4, 2011 said the controller of examination KU.

Fashion Centres Lahore and Karachi

It’s certainly not a hindrance. The market is huge here and I sell to Islamabad, Peshawer, Lahore, Karachi as well as London and other places. Sometimes being the only one is an advantage because I get highlighted for that fact, though there are other designers here they are not profiled yet. The only disadvantage is that Islamabad is somewhat isolated from fashion centres Lahore and Karachi. I have to travel there for sourcing fabric and raw material, for shoots and for advertising. That’s an inconvenience.

I think it has. You have to understand that it’s not that highly populated and the city is a little aloof. But women are becoming more and more aware. They come to me asking for the latest trends in Lahore and Karachi.

I am just one person and it’s not as easy as it sounds. Plus I’m a single parent and have no support system in my business. I can’t afford to network and publicize as much as I should. But I do try to educate women as much as I can. Honestly, I don’t think things are as backward here as they are made out to be.

Well I am busy with the lawn collection right now. I am stocking in Islamabad and at the Boulevard in Lahore. I will be stocking at Labels in Karachi from April as well. I am very happy with my clientele; it keeps me very busy. I have been participating in Dubai International Fashion Week for the past two years and shall continue to do so. In Islamabad I will be launching my summer collection soon.
