Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry awards Cash Prizes to Young Scientists Karachiites applaud My-Karachi Education Pavilion

 
Karachi: “Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Education Pavilion in My-Karachi Exhibition will act as cornerstone to link Academia with Industry and encourage youth for self-employment; another unique example has been set to promote education and entrepreneurship”, stated by Muhammad Saeed Shafiq, President-KCCI, in the My-Karachi Education Pavilion Prize Distribution Ceremony held at Karachi Expo Centre where cash prizes worth over Rs.1 Million were distributed amongst top four projects keeping in view the productivity and advantage to the society. Rear Admiral Syed Khawar Ali, Commander Karachi graced the ceremony as Chief Guest while the students and faculty of various universities exhibiting their projects/ innovations in the field of engineering, I.T. Textiles and Business Studies extensively attended the ceremony.
Saeed Shafiq highlighted that to promote professional education he evolved the idea to dedicate one complete hall at Karachi Expo Centre, free of cost, to young entrepreneurs, innovators from different universities of Karachi and Pakistan, to exhibit and demonstrate their innovations. He said that KCCI has set significant trend to uplift education and entrepreneurship.
This imperative initiative will not only encourage youth to register their patents but also attract the industrial concerns for manufacturing the innovations on commercial basis. He said that the Nation has great expectation from Youth and therefore he conveys the message to youth to dedicate themselves to towards studies and with high spirit, hope, loyalty and devotion, rise the homeland to the new horizons of progress and prosperity. He lamented that overall the society was facing ills and odds in the form of ethnic and sectarian divide which acted detrimental for the prosperity of Nation. He emphasized on unity, discipline and hard work.
Although, the country was going through a difficult time with scarcity of employment opportunities, however, the youth must not lose hope, he added. He said that our team at KCCI is available to support the young entrepreneurs to opt for self-employment where guidelines and training may be offered in all aspects. Earlier, a debate competition of universities’ students was also organized where President-KCCI gave the message to the youth to preach, unity and harmony to uplift the country’s image for progressive development. The students debated over unsocial trends and unfair practices of the society and shared ideas for peace and prosperity.
Rear Admiral Syed Khawar Ali, Commander Karachi in his address endorsed the vital role of KCCI to uplift national economy and promote trade and industry. He stated “I am deeply impressed with the great efforts of KCCI to revive peace in the city”. He stated that KCCI’s My-Karachi Exhibition is a bold initiative to give a message to the Nation and countries around the globe that we are resilient Nation and accomplished to handle all challenges. He voiced that Pakistani Children and Youth have proven their talent of being the best while achieving academic distinctions worldwide. He said that Pak Nation contributes highest charity in the world and Pakistan is the only country around the globe which had given asylum to over 500,000 refugees.
Talat Mahmood, Senior Vice President-KCCI, asserted upon the youth to boost their passion to serve Pakistan. He said “the Education Pavilion will be regular feature of Annual My-Karachi Exhibition.” A.Q. Khalil, former President-KCCI, highlighted the vision of KCCI to promote education, produce talented and skilled human resource to cater the national industrial and commercial needs. Ateeq ur Rehman, Ex-Executive Member-KCCI articulated that Education Pavilion will encourage entrepreneurship and stop brain drain. Cash Awards were sponsored by prominent members of KCCI, Khalil Nanitalwala, Shamim Ahmed Firpo and Chaudhry Ansar Javed who also spoke at the occasion.
Haroon Farooki, Vice Chairman, Businessmen Group and former President-KCCI, Junaid Esmail Makda, Vice President-KCCI, Majyd Aziz A.Q. Khalil, former Presidents, and Managing Committee Members of KCCI also graced the ceremony with their presence.
