Pakistan’s most popular reality music show ‘Coke Studio’ is wooing Indian audiences where it has bring 45 musicians across India on one platform. The Indian version of Coke Studio is called “Coke Studio@MTV” which is airing on MTV India.
The show aims to bring together various cultures of India on one stage and has been produced by MTV India in partnership with Red Chillies Entertainment. Composer-singer Leslie Lewis is the mentor and technical director of “Coke Studio@MTV”.
Pakistan’s Shafqat Aamant Ali will also participate in the show which is expected to do better than Indian Idol and Sa Re Ga Ma, two of india’s most popular music reality shows.
Coke Studio has already aired three seasons in Pakistan and has featured the likes of “Sa Re Ga Ma” musical talent show winner and popular singer Amanat Ali; Sufi singer Abida Parveen; and Meesha Shafi, lead vocalist of fusion band “Overload.”
The show’s popularity can be gauged by its Facebook fan page which has 458,454 users “like” it. The social networking site has over 80 official and unofficial groups dedicated to Coke Studio with anywhere between 7 and 458,283 “likes.”
There are already 178 fans of the Facebook page “I want Coke Studio INDIA.”
